The clear white light produced from xenon is close to that of daylight so traffic signs, produces less glare and road markings light up clearer, better than conventional lighting. Xenon bulbs can produce a brighter, whiter light than a halogen car, and tend to have a longer lifespan. Humans are inadequately equipped to see at night or in poor weather conditions. Each bulb size is available in the same range of wattages and colors, and the installation processes are the same. The risk of having an accident at night is about twice as high as during the day - despite the fact that there is less traffic on the road. Similarly to LED, when upgrading your H11 and/or H7 bulbs from halogen to HID there is not much of a difference. Similarly to LED, when upgrading your H11 and/or 9006 bulbs from halogen to HID there is not much of a difference. By itself, one light is not all that big of a deal. Never mind the amount of fittings to get your head around, there’s also different types of bulbs that use different technologies, too. A typical 12V 100-watt halogen light will draw slightly more than 8 amps. The world of headlights is a bit of a minefield if you’re part of the uninitiated. The rated lifespan of halogen bulbs is 350h 2000h maximum. As expected, the higher-wattage lights draw more current too. This happens because road vibrations and constant temperature changes can greatly affect the filament used in halogen bulbs and cause it (the filament) to blow or die off quite sooner. ![]() ![]() Brilliant daylight white light: better reflection of road signs and marking Halogen bulbs have a shorter lifespan than xenon bulbs. With a longer and wider beam pattern that projects trice the amount of light on the road, Xenon lamps provide a better overall view of the road and the ability to see upcoming objects quickly and more clearly, cyclists, pedestrians, and road workers to name but a few.Īt highway speeds, xenon lights give you up to a full second more time to safely react to road hazards. 300% more light: earlier recognition of road hazards. The only advantage of halogen apart from obvious cost, is the reduction in fatigue over long stretches. Despite their likeness, they differ in many areas, like mode of operation. HID lights are designed to last up to 10 times longer than standard halogen lamps. Cooler temperature light can be more fatiguing, but HIDs (and LEDs) are going to be brighter and whiter. LED headlights pros and cons, you see that they share several similarities. LED lights, on the other hand, cost somewhere between 10 and 20. ![]() HID bulbsare less expensive, with 100W HPS lights (a type of HID bulb) ranging from 5 to 10. Those videos are for pre-lci e90s you have a lci e90.I believe for your car u can just do it from the engine like e92s but not 100% sure because I have pre-lci.however you should really search this forum before u ask most of your questions have been answered many many times here.Xenon HID lighting provides around three times the light output of standard halogen headlights while using over 50% less energy, saving on fuel consumption. Comparing the Advantages, Disadvantages and Differences of HID, LED and Halogen Headlights Join our Community of DIYers. HID headlightsare generally less expensive and have more color options compared to LED. I haven't checked my personal car to confirm this, but I know from a couple of videos I saw (may have been the halogen version), you had to take the front wheels off and then take off the inside wheel cover (whatever that black part is called the protects internal components from road debris), and then you can access the bulb that has to be replaced. LEDs can be extremely bright, but the size of the light source is a fraction of the halogen and HIDs, making focusing the light much more difficult. Yeah I like the fact that the ones from LUX are adjustable! From the installation manual, it states that I can access the bulb replacement from under the hood. Instead of a filament heating up and glowing, HID headlights use electrodes to charge the gas inside the bulb. ![]() The bulb works in a different way to a halogen. Luckily I have factory LEDs now so I don't have to worry about it anymore Xenon bulbs can produce a brighter, whiter light than a halogen car, and tend to have a longer lifespan. I've just gone through a lot of angel eyes in the past and spent a lot of money looking for what I wanted and was never really happy. I just meant that 150 for the ones you've listed might be too much for what they are.
